Semper,

Thanks for the post. I now have (after a long range trip) an extremely dirty SIG 229 waiting until I finish moving so I can give it the workover. Can't hardly wait to see how it works.

Got my bottle today

Cleaned one rifle with it, one rifle with Break Free. I am going to the range again on Sunday and I will report back with results.

Initial observations:

1. Light smell. Not a big deal on target rifles, but for my hunters, this is essential.

2. Thicker than Break Free, Hoppes, and Birchwood's products. This increases the lubrication provided. (I would think, I am not a chemist or engineer, but higher viscosity is what all the engine oil companies tout, so I think it would apply here as well.)

3. Used on a patch after running 2 Hoppes, 4 dry down the barrel of my .308 after having shot 60 rounds, it picked up more copper that the Hoppes had missed. This was evidenced by the tell-tale green color on the patch.

So far I am very pleased with this product. I am waiting on the range results to test lubrication before making a decision on purchasing. But so far it seems to be a very good thing. Thank you for the opportunity to test it.

Thanks guys

Just wanted to say thank you for the kind words and posting up so far. I guarantee...the best is yet to come. The more you use Weapon Shield the more you will see what I mean. You'll notice things that I wont even mention about it...all positive I might add. This way I'm not "salting" your thought and expectations.

Keep the requests coming...we still have till next Friday at the close of business (5 pm est).

Best regards,
George

Is it possible that I just stop by and pick up bottle up? It would save you postage

Also, a few of my friends want to try some out. If I have them PM you authorizing it, i can grab theres while i'm at it, if its more convenient for you.

If you were passing out cold Yeungling Premium in the bottle I'd make the 4 hour drive myself.

Test #1 Complete.

I tried the Weapon Shield on my Chinese SKS. I shoot Wolf military classic ammo in this rifle, so it gets really dirty, really fast.

I'm very impressed with how the product works as a cleaner. Patches soaked in weapon shield came out dirtier than they do when i use Breakfree CLP. Cleaning the bolt assembly, i managed to remove more dirt with weapon shield even after i'd "cleaned" it with a toothbrush and Hoppes #9

One of the first things I noticed, weapon shield doesnt have that horrible, chemical smell that breakfree does. That's a huge plus in my book. I lubed up everything with the weapon shield as I put the SKS back together. Tomorow afternoon, I'll take it to the range and see how it does.

I've got a few more guns to clean after today's visit to the range, but I wont get to all of them tonight. I'll get back later with results from them.

My conclusion so far... I'm very impressed with the product, and pending a little more testing (more guns to clean) I plan to order more. It beats breakfree, in my openion. I plan on making this my all purpose cleaner and lube.

Thanks for the sample!

RedneckFur,
How's the viscosity? (I.E. does the lube tend to stay where you put it?)

OK, OK. I'll finally bite. I'll send you an email. Just to let you know up front: I'm Eezox's best advertisement. I'm willing to try a new product if I think it's for the greater good...

Don't feel bad. Right at the moment I'm a walking ad for Militec-1 (in fact that's how this whole thing got started as George issued a "challenge") <grin>.

Well I rec'd my bottle a week after I posted and tried it out the next day.
Works great as a cleaner. Cleans better than other products I've tried and doesn't have a nasty smell.
As a lube it's great too. Perfect viscosity. Not too high, not too low.

My only complaint (and it's very minor) is the difficulty of precise application via straw or something. Other than that, you won't be disappointed.

I've found a new favorite product.

I got mine yesterday. I checked just as I was leaving for work.

I will try it out and clean a few guns with mine and see how it works. Looks like it will work very well.

I'll try it out and tell you all about it. lol.
