I ran this same exercise a couple of months ago, there are non in production for at least 6 - 9 months.
The guys that do have them, well, you figure it out...... : - ( I've been using Winchester with great accuracy. Four shots at 200 yards, I could cover them all with a dime! Let us know if you find some, GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!! |

WA the CCI BR is a very good primer but the cup is a little harder than the GM. Back the charge down about 2.0 gr. and work it back up. I use BR4s in my .222 for ultimate accuracy loads, even though they are more expensive than the RP 71/2s I prefer. The only reason you can get the BRs is the price. Some people just won't spend the extra. RP 71/2s are nonexistent around here, and I haven't found any vendor that has any. Guess it's a good thing I bought some a couple years ago. Good luck.

Ditto on the CCI BR's. More and more loads seem to be showing up around the web and among shooting rags that claim to be accurate only with those primers. Also Dittos on the price. Fortunately for me, I laid in 5000 210M's awhile back, and am not through them yet. I also got 5000 of the CCI #34's last year for gas gun loads for .30-06 and .308 to use in matches. Also an excellent reputation.
You will likely find, with their harder cups, the CCI's need a bit more effort to seat. So, if your doing this on a progressive, keep an eye out for high primers.

There haven't been any Federal rifle primers around here for over a year. Just checked again last Friday.

WA,
In my .308 loads I prefer to use either the GM210M or BR2's. If all else fails WLR's will work fairly well, just not as good of an ES or SD on the chronograph. I have yet to try any of the PMC (Russian) primers, as they seem even harder to locate for me. Definitely, drop your load back a bit and work back as the 210M's and the BR2's flash differently. LP |

I just got off the phoen with Federal. 210Ms are a 6-9 month back orderr situation.
I basically load for 2 cartridges for 6 rifles. 6.5x55 and 308 for the Blaser. I guess I will save the 210Ms for those loads, but switch to BRs for the M41B and all the others. Wilmyloadisomildinthem41bthatimaynotneedtodecreasechargeAlaska |

Did they happen to say why the backorder situation?
Just idle curiousity. (I am sure glad I stocked up a few months back!)

All of federals primers are going into loaded rounds. You will be lucky if you see any on the shelves till sometime on 2008. They have there primer line running 24/7 trying to keep up with orders for ammo. I have a very good source for the info. I have a family member who works for Federal. Good thing I have about 4k of the 210M and 205M laying around for a rainy day!!! Happy hunting!

Powder Valley has the Wolf (Russian/PMC) primers as of earlier this week. I've got some coming.

I have been using the CCI Br's with great success, plus the local MWR run sportsman club on base ran out of standard primers so they sold me the BR's for the same price per thousand (I bought out all they had on stock
) and they gave me a multi order discount ( when it was all over I ended up paying about half as much as the BR's normally go for on midway and I even get the dealer discount from midway).

Wild I would offer you some gladly, but you would probably not be interested. I buy only CCI's loaded in APS strips. I buy them in boxes of 5000 and have a decent storage of them distributed around my friends houses. I try to keep my stash within the fire codes for safety.

WA I forgot to add in my first post that I'm hoarding 1000 215Ms for use with H380 if I get another 22-250. You could try the barter system with some of the locals if all else fails. No telling what your fellow citizens have way up there. Good luck and you'll find those BRs are right fine primers.

![]() I've seen those too... has anyone used them? Are they as horrible and awful as they might be? Wolf ammo doesn't have a great rep... could the primers be any better? Any firsthand reports? |

The Guy On The Horse
Buy all the Winchester primers you can. Supply will slowly dry up, as prices of all primers rise. To each his own, me I like "the guy on the horse" brand!

Can't find the link, but one article has it that government ammunition orders are way, way up. Three or four times last year's level. That seems to be eating the factory capacity up.

I think the CCI 250 is the closest to the Fed 210 as far as brisance is concerned. All primers are different, so if you have to change from what you normally use by all means back off on the powder charge and work back up.
