Va. Tells NYC to Stop Gun Stings
Perhaps Bloomberg should set up border crossings and strip-search people before allowing them into NYC. That might solve his city's problem.

One thing I see and I kinda agree with was the agents made it completely obvious that the one paying for it was not the one to be registerd or marked as owning it. This is against the law, no matter how much we feel about it as law abiding citizens we should abide by it. I belive as well that the person making the sale should have also been aware of the state laws on firearms transactions. Unless for somereasons they were breaking a law from NY that was not applicable in VA there is every indication that they are to be prosecuted. Not nesessarily the job of NY but that of VA to enforec its own laws. I do believe that Bloomberg needs to stay in his own state let alone his city (which is probably how he veiws it)

its a Federal issue, not a task for New York City.
They should clean up their own back yard first though.

If the investigators had legal authority to conduct such operations is one thing. However, they were acting as private citizens. This means that they taped themselves committing a federal felony, with intention. They should be prosecuted as such. Bloomberg has also taken a strong stand against what he refers to as "vigilantism" in New York City. However, his operatives are practicing just that, as he defines it.
I am also aware that the operatives acted as a "couple" during the entire episode, so there must have been some communication involved between them. Somehow, I find it hard to believe that the second person could just suddenly appear and fill out the paperwork, yet not arouse suspicion. As is usual, an attornies description of an action is normally quite different than that of the participants. It would also be difficult for the operatives to have purchased handguns without false documents in other states, another felonious violation on the form 4473.:barf: |

Bloomberg and all involved committed several federal and state crimes, Admitted on T.V., radio, and print, but no charges filed.
