.45 colt 200gr. lswc

I want to load my ruger .45 colt with the same bullet that I cast for my acp. I use w.w. and a lee mold. I would like to acheive 1200-1300 fps but I dont find any info on such a load. Can anyone tell me anything, suggestions, help in any form? THANKS ALOT.

If you want to hit 1200 fps, you had better find and use a mold for gas check bullets, and then put gas checks on them. As a rule of thumb, 1000 fps or so is the practical limit for lead bullets. 1200-1300 fps is definitely way out there unless you are using a very hard alloy. I get leading with my 45 at about 950 fps with 200 gr SWC.

Water drop the wheelweights, lube them within a couple hours with a GOOD soft lube like LBT Blue, then coat the bases with Lee Liquid Alox thinned down to JUST make it turn light bronze. Start with 8 grains of Unique and chrono up. If your throats and bullet sizes don't match you will have bad leading problems, if they match well I haven't had any problems running lead bullets at those speeds.

Ditto the water dropping. I lube with Rooster Labs "Zambini Red" and have no problems.
