Guys, I need you do do something...

New York Rep. Carolyn McCarthy has posted on her website some inflated numbers about the recent mall shooting in Salt Lake City, hoping to gain support for her new version of an Assault Weapons Ban. She's saying that 10 people were killed, when only five were - I guess that five wasn't a big enough number for her.

Essentially she's using the victims of this killer to further her political agenda. In fact, she's probably disappointed that there weren't actually more victims.

Over at THR, we've started a bit of an e-mail campaign, so that hopefully her strategy may be exposed in national media to see the light of day.

Basically, here's what we're looking for from you - E-mail or otherwise contact national (or SLC) news media tiplines, etc., and let them know that you're outraged over her using the innocent victims to further her political agenda.

This is NOT for your congressmen, or for traditional "right wing" media. This story will be FAR more effective if it "breaks" from an outfit like the SLC Tribune or CNN.

We've got a sizable list of media outlets being compiled in that thread - take a look, and take a minute, and contact at least one of 'em. More if you've got a little more time. Let them know your outrage over the congresswoman using the victims to further her political agenda.

That's it. DO NOT get into the gun thing. In fact, you don't even have to mention guns. Keep it simple, and to the point, and if we get enough people bothering the "gatekeepers" for the media, we'll maybe have some news. If enough people do this, we'll have a perfect example of grass-roots activism at work.

If a few hundred people do this, they'll probably notice.

If a few thousand do it, it's news.

Now go send a note describing how her exaggeration of the number of innocent victims makes you wanna throw up to five of the address on that THR thread.

Congresswoman McCarthy began her political career on the corpses of her husband and other unarmed commuters gunned down by rascist anti-white felon Colin Ferguson. The idiocy of her anti-gun crusade never seems to slow her down. Had NY allowed concealed carry, it is likely that one or more of those on the commuter train would have been able to resist the shooter who reloaded several times, methodically moving down the aisle. Finally, during one reload, he was subdued by some passengers. Ms. McCarthy used the death of her husband and wounding of her adult son that day to launch her political career. I guess the rampage in the mall was insufficiently bloody to match the event that made her who she is so she had to exaggerate a bit.
