Ultimak rail for an M1 Carbine

Has anyone here have any experience with these picatinny rails?
I've been thinking about getting one for a while now.
They look good and seem pretty solid. Any advice would be great

Full name: UltiMAK M6-B Forward Optic Mount

You can do what I did...

take an old metal handguard weld on a 5/8" X 6" X 3/16" CRS, then drill and tap for a Weaver scopr mount for 336 to mount on the carbine.

I have one on my Inland

It simply clamps onto the barrel and is a perfect fit. Very nice quality piece and a very secure base of optics.

They are a good rail for mouting optics, lights, etc...

I don't have one on my M1 carbines, but I have handled m1's that did have them mounted and they seemed very well made and solid. I have also heard that the ones made for AK's are the best on the market for an ak/ak clone.

Check ebay and the other gun sites for a deal on one. Have seen them on their before for a fairly cheap price.

Why on earth would you WANT to put a contraption like that on a carbine???

The M-1 carbine is a fine little weapon "as issued."

Because in Holland (where I live ) we have special matches for rifles that aquire red dots if you want to get anywhere near the top

I'm not gonna spoil my magnificant M1 Carbine by leaving it on for ever, I'm planning on taking it off every once in a while and just adore it's pure beauty
