New 686 in the wild pix....
Took the 686 out this AM to check out the grips and these are keepers! Pachmayr Decelerator grips were worth the money.

Very good looker – but then it is a 686
I love mine – 686-5 with a 6” barrel. Mine has wooden grips. They look good but are not the best when it comes to shooting 357 magnums. How does the Pachmayrs handle full power 357 mags? Happy shooting |

It feels totally different than it did with the exposed back strap. I shot full blown factory loaded 357's this AM with it and it did so much better than the original Hogue rubber grips. The rubber on the back strap spreads the energy over a wider area so the hand does not take all the recoil in one area.
