Sizing Lubricant
Do any of you all have any suggestion for "homemade" lube?
I am in the middle of sizing 243, and realizied that I am out. BPS quit carrying anything but powder and primers, and I have no other local source for supplies. WD-40 isn't working too good.

AH Ha!
That worked very nicely! I smeared some on my case lube pad, and viola! I even resized some 308 to 243 without much trouble at all! 150 cases and not one stuck! I tossed them in the tumbler and they are shining up quite nicely as well. I shall have to see how this works out at the range and such, but at first blush, I think I have found a replacement for "store bought" lube. |

The old RCBS pad lube was essentially identical to the original STP formula, and the latter would substitute for it nicely.

I usually use Imperial Sizing Die Wax.
Anhydrous lanolin also works very well. In fact, many sizing lubes contain lanolin. I've also used "Bag Balm" (cow udder ointment). It's a petroleum jelly/lanolin blend. It works very well as a sizing lube. |
