280 info

I have a box of reloads that say I used IMR 4350 56 gr. with a 140 gr. sierra bt bullet. I lost my sierra manual in a recent move and in referring to Nosler manual it states that the max load is 52.5. Did I write down 4350 instead of 4831? 4831 shows 56 gr. max load.

These are old reloads that shot .5 inch groups

56 grains of 4350 will be OK.Older Speer manual listed 55.5 with a 145 grain bullet. It will be pretty hot.

56gr 4350

Thanks for the confidence builder. It has been some time like 10 years since i been on my bench...Finnally got semi retired and love to tinker on new loads and get the harmonics right on my rifles. I had 5 that all shot my personal 25cent peice std of accuracy at 100yds. Three shots covered by a quarter.

I spoke to the swift A Frame people and they said all manuals have a saftey factor built into all the loads in the manuals for litigation reasons. So I look at a 2% margin of max loads as a straing point.
