Is there any part of reloading that you really dislike?

My dislike is PRIMING.

Over the years (started in the early 70's) I've tried most of the single and auto-type priming tools either hand or mounted on the press and they all were a pain. When the ASP from RCBS came out what I good idea I thought but what a pain to use. I spend more time unjamming it than priming.

Any help would be greatly apprecieated.

Turk,

Get a progressive press. I got a Dillon 550 a few years back and now "priming" consists of a short overstroke on the ram arm and filling the primer tube every 100 rounds.

I really like priming using the RCBS non-strip-type hand tool.

Agree with both sensop and WEESHOOT2. Vast majority of my loading is on a Dillon 550B. As long as I eschew use of CCI primers, I have zero problems. For the rifle loads that I do on single stage, I use the RCBS Hand Priming Tool, the one with the primer tray and flipper furnished.

My own pet peeve about rifle loading is sorting and weighing and trimming and deburring and chamfering case mouths. In short, case preparation, except for cleaning the cases. I just toss 'em into the vibratory cleaner and go do something else for a while. Read, or watch the History Channel.
