More than one has an 8+ inch barrel. It would take some time to do a search on the net.

Double Action Revolvers
Colt: Pythons were made with an 8" barrel. Some of the special colt offerings of the PYthon also had the long barrel-Whitetailer, Silhouette, and Hunter. Also the Colt King Cobra, Trooper Mark III, and Trooper MKV were other Colt 357 offerings.
Smith & Wesson-8 3/8": Model 27, Model 28, and Model 586.
Dan Wesson: Model 715> 8 & 10"; Model 14 >8"; Mode 15 >8, 10, 12, or 15".
Taurus: Model 66 and Model 608
Single Actions
Ruger: Blackhawk (10"); most with shorter barrels
Colt: Single Action Army 2nd gen (rare); most with shorter barrels

Speaking of the Colt Hunter; I bought a brand new Hunter "set" in '83 which I think is the only year it was sold before they discontinued the complete set with the Halliburton case, scope, and accessories. The Hunter after that was just the 8" Python all by itself.

I've never been able to bring myself to fire mine and have even left the paper tag with the string still attached to the trigger guard.

That said, it is of course in 100% condition, but I recently opened it up to put a fresh coat of oil on it and found that the foam bedding inside the case is all wasting away and crumbling. Does anyone know where I might be able to get a replace foam top and bottom for it?
I know that I could never find it as an original part, but I would like to replace it with something that looks identical.

686 & 686+ used to be available with 8" tubes, it's been a while since I have checked S&W's website . Taurus should have them as well. hpg

357 mag with 8" Barrel !!!

Ran across a 98% new 586 with 8 3/8ths barrel on Friday. Price was $389. early gun, no dash, firing pin on the hammer. Very nice gun but I'm just not into barrels that long!!! This was in a pawn shop, The Gift House, In Ogden,Utah.
