45 auto-rim

looking for a good target load for 45 auto-rim I have lots of 185 gr semi-wadcutters plenty of brass ,I have used unique with good results but it is pretty dirty. the pistol is a model 1955 target smith and wesson 45 acp
dont care for the moon clips that much.thats why I use 45 auto rim

Most of my .45 work is at the 7 yard "personal defense" range using 3.9 of Clays or 4.0 of Bullseye under a 200 grain LSWC or a 230 grain LRN.

They stay in one tight little ragged one hole group with these loads out of a S&W 625 wheelgun, if I stay consistent in my loads.

Same loads in the near identical size .45ACP brass, sometimes using moon clips.

There is just too much free .45ACP brass lying about to simply walk away from it. For this cheapskate, anyway.

45 auto rim

hey thanks for the info !! I dont hate the moon clips I use them with the acp
just takes a little longer to load and unload. the pistol is a gift from my dad
its has probaly no more than 100 rds through it.mod 1955 target smith
