Just getting comportable loading 45LC on our spiffy new Dillon 550 when the auto primer stops auto priming.
The primer bar has stoped comming back all the way without a little tug. Played with the adjustments but the bar still needs a slight tug to load a primer in the cup. Took it apart cleaned and put a smidgen of tetra greas on to smooth things up. This has not helped at all. What else can I do to get it running automaticly again??? ------------------ http://www.dd-b.net/RKBA/ http://www.tcsn.net/doncicci/freedom.htm http://home.earthlink.net/~spwenger/spwenger.html |

Try adjusting the outward travel stop set screw, or maybe your operating rod is a little bent and pushing the primer slide all the way out.

The set screw is adujusted out, I grabed a flashlight and did it by sight watching the primers drop into the cup.
The slide stops just a fraction of a inch before it's out far enough to pick up a primer. Don't know what else to do. Guess it's time to call Dillon tomorrow. |

Is the problem with large and small primers or just large.

No idea how small primers feed, right now I'm just dong the 45LC and they use large pistol primers. Were using winchester primers also.

I'll have to agree the bar that runs on the two rollers is probably bent. Or in the wrong hole up on top of the press. Did you call Dillon?

Took the little bar that is running on the rollers and bent it a tad. This took care of the problem.
