I'm new to IPSC. As a matter of fact, I'll be shooting my first match this weekend. I'm using a Para-Ordnance P14-45 Limited in 45acp. This match I'll use factory ammo, 230g,FMJ, just to build up my supply of cases. I do reload and have shot 200g SWC through the P14. So guys (and gals) here’s my question.
What are you're favorite IPSC 45 ACP loads?
bullet weight/style?
power/charge?
Thanks in advance for the information and happy shooting!!!

Easy.

case: any (prefer IMI)
powder: W231 5.9g
bullet: 200gLSWC (available everywhere - Bull-X is high quality)
primer: CCI300 or WLP (prefer CCI)
OAL: 1.250-1.260" (my gun prefers 1.258")

Expect 920fps from 5" 1911.

I use the same load as WESHOOT2, I get ~894fps from my 5" Springfield.

Another IPSC load is 5.2 W213 with a 230gr LRN. You can load that down to 761fps and still make major, much lighter and controllable recoil than the hot loaded 200SWC gives, less snappy and more like a push.

sorry that's W231 in my last post, not supposed to say W213. Yep.

WESHOOT2 almost nailed my load exactly.

The only differnces is that I load 5.8grs W231, WLP primers at an OAL of 1.260". Bull-X or Zero bullets. Velocity runs right at 900fps.
