"It's an .88 Magnum..."

Got to thinking about "Johnny Dangerously" last night, and I started pondering on the .88 Magnum that Danny Vermin carried.

What would be the best way to develop this cartridge? Simply take a .44 and double its diameter, while leaving the bullet length the same? What case thickness could handle the charge necessary to move a bullet that big? Necked or straight?

Anyone feel up to the challenge?

I'm thinkin' a case necked down ta take a .223 bullet would be purdy trick.

'Spose Hamilton Bowen could make up a 3 shot cylinder fer it, and stuff it in a Blackhawk.

'Bout 50 grains of 2400 should make fer a fun load.

Given any thought ta whether there should be an .88 Special ta go along with it?!?
