I haven't been able to put my fingers on this bit of information. What would the ballistic coefficient be for an unmarred/unrifled round ball (as in buckshot or a smoothbore muzzle loader)?

You've opened a real can of worms. It depends on the calibre of the sphere and on what table of b.c.'s you are using: Gs or an approximation in G1. Bob

Okay, let us say we are looking at a 00 Buck pellet (.33") on the G1 table.

Daniel,

Try 0.045 at suprsonic velocities, 0.037 in the transsonic region, & 0.031 for subsonic speeds. You'll have to determine the speed of sound for your ambient conditions. Bob
