Training Schools List

I've noticed more and more posts asking about locations of training schools in certain states (such as Thunder Ranch, and front sight) I figured it would be helpful to every one if we had a list with links and the state they are located in, It would cut down on duplicate posts and make finding schools in your state Much easier. I'll start.

Front Sight Firearms Training Institute
Located IN Nevada and Alaska
www.frontsight.com

Thunder Ranch
Located in Orgeon

This is a very nice thread. I'd like to learn as much of these schools. I've just received a nice deal on ebay for a 4-day course certificate at Front Sight, worth $1,600, which I got for less than $100.

Frontsight is a great school. Professional training. I also bought a cheap certificate and attended the 4 day defensive handgun course. The last day of the 4 day handgun course, I bought a membership. I just recently upgraded to a lifetime founder's membership. Whatever classes Front Sight offers now, and whatever they come up with in the future, I'll be able to attend for free. Awesome deal.

This is where I took a basic safety course and have a range membership. Many law enforcement agencies in the area train here.

FAS is located in Washington, not Oregon. It is halfway between Seattle & Portland (Portland is the extreme northern border of Oregon; Seattle is slightly north of Washington's midpoint).

Here's one for eastern Ohio, in Jefferson County. Facility's name is S.T.A.R.T.

I have no first hand experience with them, but I do know a couple of the instructors, and they are first rate. Here is their mission statement:

Quote:
Special Tactics and Rescue Training (S.T.A.R.T.) is a Weapons Training Facility, Target Fabrication, and a Consulting Company Specializing in Special Tactics and Rescue Training in support of Homeland Defense. We are becoming an international global asset. Its founders are Combatant Veterans comprised of Retired Navy Seal, Army 82nd Airborne Soldiers, Green Berets, Pilots, and Law Enforcement Personnel. Special Tactics and Rescue Training is dedicated to expert training of Law Enforcement, Military, and Civilian Agencies. Our purpose is to service our customers in the safest, and most cost effective manner possible. We use the latest training methods from basic self-defense to close quarter's battle. We support the Homeland Defense and believe it STARTs with our United States Citizens.

Seems to me there's a need for one more category: those that travel.

LFI, for instance, probably does more classes outside New Hampshire than they do in-state.

I know that Sooner posted a TX list but I want to explicitly point out

www.krtraining.com

Givens was fun and Karl hosts good folk and teaches great classes himself and with his wife Penny.
