Laser lite on an 870?

I'm new to shotguns, but I just bought an 870 Express Magnum 18" for HD. A laser attached to the forend sounds like a good idea, but there must be downsides. What's your opinion?

get a flashlight if you want something like that. a shotty is more of a point and shoot, not that you dont have to aim, just dont think you need a laser.

You know, you're probably right. I've got a spare Surefire 6P...I'd need to find or fabricate a bracket. I've got laser grips on one of my 1911 and I gotta confess the jury is still out.
