Driving to work this morning (I live in a very built-up suburb of Atlanta) I saw a nice 8 point buck lying dead by the curb on the street just outside my subdivision entrance. Hit by car.
Drat! What a waste. |

Was it there yesterday? If not it's fresh. I don't want to sound like the beverly hillbillies, but if it was hit in the night, I would take it. I've eaten road kill before, and probably will again
If it's been there a few days, return under the cover of night and get the horns Can't let a nice rack go to waste now can we???

It looked fresh. The first thing that crossed my mind was to field dress it and take it home but:
I was late to work already; I was wearing a suit; It was pouring rain; and I didn't have an adequate knife with me. When I drove by on my way home it was gone - somebody beat me to it. Hawk |
