Remington 700 tight chamber

I just bought a rem. 700 moutain rifle, new in box, cal. 7x57 mauser.
the chamber seems to be very tight. Even with factory ammo the chamber closes very hard. I took new rem brass and full length sized, by the book, had to adjust dies way down to get them to chamber. Anyone else has this problem with rem?

see if there is a gunsmith around that has the headspace gauges. if the headspace checks out Remington might or might not do anything. if the headspace checks out bad then I would expect them to fix it with no charge
