RWVA Great American Patriot Shoot -- Sat, 4/16
"Muster and March, for Liberty!"
That was the cry in April, 1775, as British regulars marched in the dark of night from Boston towards Lexington and Concord to seize powder and arms stored by American patriots. In the middle of the night, bells and cries of alarm sounded across the Massachussetts colony as American colonials shook off sleep, grabbed their gear, and mustered with their countrymen.
They then marched miles, over bad roads, to meet and ultimately defeat (both that day and over the next eight years) the most powerful professional military force the world had ever known.
On April 16th, we'll remember those men of iron that made America with a practical shooting event like few others.
Bring your battle rifle, bayonets, at least 300 rounds of ammo, and whatever you need to carry it all (LBE, backpack, shopping bags) as we make a short demonstration march to get our hearts pumping. We'll then take on the Redcoat popups as they attack....
Of course, keeping with our "kinder and gentler" age, they'll be no British bayonets to face. But you will face an array of target situations designed to show you what a modern battle rifle would have meant on Patriot's Day back in 1775.
We'll shoot all day, and finish the festivities with the new Battleground challenge -- ten minutes of pure rapid-fire excitement. First review of Battleground: "A 10 -- no, more than a 10!"
As a recent attendee said, "It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on....."

Great facility, great folks. All skill levels welcome!
Bring 400 rounds minimum, and be prepared to shoot fast and well.
Did I mention to bring enough ammo? An extra rifle might be a good idea, too, unless you have shaken the bugs out of your main stick.
Iron sights preferred, but scopes can be used.
Any centerfire rifle caliber .32 or smaller is welcome.
Just bring your desire to shoot well and learn.
Special bonus prize for the shooter(s) who travelled the longest distance to get there!
US-64 to Ramseur, North Carolina. South on Route 22.

Look for range on left.
See www.rwva.org for more info. You also really owe it to yourself to read David Hackett Fischer's Paul Revere's Ride to appreciate what these brave men were able to accomplish against superior forces.
Remember: if you're just talking, you ain't shooting!
