Which 6.5mm, 140 gr. bullet

Which 6.5mm, 140 gr. bullet, Hornady Interlock SST or Sierra Game King SBT would you recommend for deer and hogs to 200 yards at about 2400 fps? They are the same price. Jay

The 140 Sierra works great on deer.
The last one I shot was about 30-40 yards away.
It broke several bones and kept on going out the other side.
It was loaded over 46g of RE22 in a 6.5x55 23.5" barrel.
I don't have a chronograph but I'd imagine it was going a bit faster than 2400fps.
The SST might give you a bigger hole due to the plastic tip, but both will probably penetrate into next week.
I've had great luck with the 160g Sierras too.
Two finger entry holes and the internals were whalloped for sure.

I've always gotten better accuracy out of Hornady bullets in my .243, but loaded my 6.5 Jap exclusively with Sierra 140s to emulate the old military rounds.

6.5

I use Nosler ballistic tips, and Sierra Gameking boat tails in my 6.5x55. Both work great.
