Anyone have any experience with the Remington 11-87 with various sights??
I'm thinking of buying a 11-87 police shotgun with a bead sight. That's what I've always trained with and would guess that for 20 yards or so, the bead sight is best for getting on target fast. Any advantages to ghost ring or rifle sights at 20 yards?

Not really. The peep/GR sights come into their own at extended range with slugs. Beads are super fast and reliable. Peeps are very slightly slower.
Most folks can do OK out to 50 yards with slugs and a bead. |

I have an 1100 with a vent rib and dual beads. This is pretty quick and easy to align. I'd like to get a rifle-sighted barrel some day like the one's I use on my 870's but I am not displeased with the way the current setup performs.

Frank,
I agree with Dave. If you do decide to go with the ghost ring setup, though, DON'T get the Remington version of the ghost ring - go with the Wilson/Scattergun ghost ring that Remington offers. Much more durable. If you get the XS front sight from Remington, you can order a replacement XS tritium front bead and put it in yourself, if you want a tritium front sight. Just my .02 Steve |

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll go with the bead. Besides training exclusively with beads out to 50 yards, I like the idea of an uncluttered top side without the sharp sights up there.
