DPMS Shorty

Just got a DPMS shorty with a miculek compensator, fake colapsable stock, and A1 sights for my son. (Product code RFA1-14C). Barrel is labeled .223 and 1/9. Does anyone
know if the current DPMS's have a chrome bore
or if the chambers are 5.56 or .223? Guy at
the gunstore thought they were the same - didn't
feel like educating anyone today... Most of my
research has been on Rock River and Bushmaster.
Any feedback on DPMS products is most welcome. Also wondering
if anyone has any experience with this compensator - noise and
effectiveness.

Thanks,
Coffee

Picked up a DPMS Classic Sixteen two weeks ago, great little carbine. DPMS does not chrome line their bores. They are Mil-Spec chambers, meaning they are chambered at 5.56, even though you may see both calibers listed. The comps are indeed noisy, and will provide a bit of blast to those that are shooting on either side. Going back out this a.m. to run more rounds thru mine. Go out and shoot it, and get to know it.

I've got a couple of DPMS setups, including a left-hand variant. As posted above, they don't chrome-line their bores.
