Serial Number Range of Glocks with the Latest Major Problem

The serial numbers of the Glocks which may have the latest major problem.

"Officer "X", Firearms Coordinator, was informed by a Glock representative that there are
problems with the frames. Anyone having a Glock within the below listed range of serial numbers
will need their frame replaced due to inferior metal on the guide rails.

Glock Serial Number Range — EAA 000 US to EZZ 999 US"

Check your serial numbers.

My G19 is in the serial number range

Has Glock issued a recall? How are they handling the situation?

Does it really affect all models in that serial number range regardless of caliber and frame size?

BTW, my G19 has a serial number starting with EVZ and the package with the test shells is dated 6/20/2002.

Is my G19 affected?

Thanks,
Scott

If you want specifics, call Glock using the number on their website.

Firstly, I love Glocks; I have eight.

Secondly, I seriously doubt that Glock will ever acknowledge this as a "RECALL" -- just an "UPGRADE".

I'm not certain that this is correct, but I heard that this only affects some Glock 22s and 23s (.40 Auto).

Glock phone #s --
1-770-432-1202 or toll free 1-866-225-4089

extension: 219

I have a Glock 21 and a Glock 30 that fall within the
EAA000US - EZZ999US serial number range. Because these are both .45 ACPs, I'm not sure whether they're included or not...I guess I'll find out sooner or later.

The word they are evidently putting out to LEAs is that it is effecting all models. It just seems to have shown up in the .40 S&Ws first/worst.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and speculate a bit.

The reason it’s showing only in the .40 cal maybe has something to do with it being the most popular LE round at present?

If the recall involves guns manufactured from last year as well it’s just a matter of time before other calibers get hit.

The rear rails have always been the Achilles heel of an otherwise solid design. Glock has alternatively lengthened and shortened the rear rails to cope with problems. This isn't limp wristing hogwash folks, if you own a Glock check it over very carefully.

Thanks for the tel #'s. Kinda upset since I just bought a new GLock a few weeks ago w/ a ser # that falls within the specified range...time to put Glock's CS reputation to the test.

Not ALL of the E series are affected, just some. If you have an E series, call Glock and they will tell you if yours is included in the "upgrade". Mine turned out to be. I'm sending it out tomorrow.

I called the number on there web page, waited for all options and pushed "0" for the operator. Talked with Jackie, very nice lady. She told me everything I needed to know to send it in.

Good Luck.

"Not Affected" :-)

I just got off the horn with Glock and after being asked what the serial number of my handgun was...and after being asked what model my gun was...I got the happy reply that "Your firearm is not affected by this."

They were polite, helpful, honest and told me if I ever did have any problems with my Glock, of any nature, to call and they would make sure my gun was 100% I was 100% satisfied with their actions.

Nothing man-made is perfect...but Glock is not too shabby in my eyes.

Cheers!

Could someone please verify the toll free number? Tried 866.225.4089 and it doesn't work.

What's this???

They use pot metal now??

How on earth could an "inferior metal" be introduced in the manufacturing process, unless Glock intentionally put it there??

Are they ISO certified to begin with?

I contacted Glock today, and my ERX---US Model 22 is in the series they posted. However, I was told they are not taking back all the guns in that series. I was also told if the gun is NOT actually broken, they will not take it back. They did point out that Glock stands behind their product and will warranty repair broken units, as Glock always has. As it stands now, mine only has about 500 rounds through it, and appears undamaged.
