Hey Rich L !! Congrats on 4 years of TFL!!

Nice job!
According to the membership role, Anthony L is the oldest active founding memember that isn't staff. His join date is 10/9/98, so I guess 10/9 is a good enough date to celebrate TFL's birthday on.
Here's a raise of a cyber glass of Shiner to 4 good years gone by, and lots more to come.

Pretty cool!

Amazing how fast a "place" grows on you in just a few short years...

Thanks, Rich!

Congratulations, Rich! I've tried alot of gun boards, but TFL is THE BEST by far. For many of us it has become a lifeline of sanity when it comes to the issues of freedom in general and RKBA in particular. The wealth and depth of knowledge extant here is unequaled anywhere else.

Thank you so much, Rich. Years ago I felt like I was all alone. TFL has made me realize that there are others who share my beliefs.

Now, if you could only come up with a way to counter TFL addiction....

Thanks a million Rich! This is by far the most informative site for firearms on the net.

Happy B-day TFL!

What is our Birth date, anyway?

We were up "privately" in early October 1998 while we recruited and registered Staff. The earliest registration was October 6 (DC shows earlier because it was manually changed after I lost her entire profile). The Board actually opened to the public on the 9th, but I think 10/10 has a better ring to it!

When we started, I called it a 1 year life cycle. I don't think any of us intended to be involved this long....it just kinda happened that way.

TFL is awesome. Plain and simple. It is a collection of some of the finest and most intelligent people I have ever met. Thanks Rich!

PS- I'm down with a TFL get-together next year!

Gawd, is it that long??

I'm so old I can remember when we used to talk about non-gun-related topics in this particular forum -- especially food and wine!

And DC used to be here a lot; and wasn't there a Rob who went off to join the police or something similar???????

And the opening screen of the Tibetan hunting camp?

And using html, then UBB code, now vB code.

And members who looked like wookies; or who had names that sounded like someone clearing their throat

Ahh, yes, the good ole days.

Well, thank you people, thank you ALL for making TFL such a long-lived, class act, a place that even now still feels familiar, friendly and a home-away-from-home.

Bruce
