How many rounds are in your carry gun?

How many cartridges does your carry gun hold, when it is loaded to capacity?

Please include the rounds loaded in the gun only, and not any extra rounds loaded in magazines or speedloaders.

quote by Mark IV Series 80-- "Please include the rounds loaded in the gun only, and not any extra rounds loaded in magazines or speedloaders."

Being picky and using that criteria my Duty Beretta 92D Centurion only holds "1" My off duty Model 38 S&W holds 5.

My partime duty GLOCK 17 would only hold "1" as well as the Backup G26.

Now if you let me count the magazine, well.....

In my Sig P220-

Seven in the magazine; and one up the pipe!
Hopefully, that is all I will need?

Sort of as Tamara said, what makes you think we are just carrying one gun or just carrying one gun at a time?

To answer your question, 9 and/or 8.

Only TWO???

I'm a little paranoid these days. (On second thought, maybe I always was.) I'm also in a rut as far as carry goes. I either carry a Glock 27 on my hip with 9 rounds of .40 caliber RBCD or a J-frame with 6 rounds of .32 H&R Magsafes.
In my pocket is a Seecamp with 6 rounds of .32ACP RBCD, and on my ankle is a Kel-Tec P-32 with 6 rounds of Fiocchi 73gr. FMJ.
It seems a little odd when I sit here and read it.

Cannot carry until I get my permit, but once I get the wonderful piece of plastic I plan on having 13+1 in the gun and an extra ten with me.

My 239 only holds 8 rounds, unless I carry the 10 round magazine. But ,if I carry the 10 round magazine it's harder to conceal.

The title to the thread (how many are in your gun) and the question on the poll (how many does your gun hold) are two different questions. I carry 11 in my and Beretta 96 and answered the poll that way. However, I could carry 11 +1 if I were inclined, and that would put me in a different category.

I usually carry my Glock 26, and that has 10 + 1 rounds of 9mm, however, in the winter I carry my Glock 17 sometimes (when I can conceal it), and that has 17 + 1 rounds available.

Since I live in MD I don't have a carry gun (I'd go to jail) but my usual home defense gun(s) is/are a six shooter (for some time its been my 3" S&W 65LS but I'm thinking of adding the 6" S&W 586, or even retiring the 65 for that purpose and only use the 586). I use .38s and .38+Ps for home defense as the stopping power is good without the overpenatration issues of a .357mag. I do occasionally load up the Charles Daly 1911 with 8+1 rounds (.45acp is a great home defense round, great stopping power without overpenatration issues) and CZ 75B with 15+1 rounds (though 9mm can have overpenatration issues for home defense) for that purpose as well.

When I do move to a carry state my rotation will consit of (I suspect I'll probably use each combo about equally):
1) CZ 75B (15+1 of 9mm) or CZ 40B (10+1 of .40S&W) with a 5 shot snub in backup.
2) 3" S&W 65LS (6 shooter, .357mag, usually loaded with .38+Ps) backed up (for now) with a Bersa Thunder (7+1 of .380) and eventually I'll probably replace the backup with a 9mm backup (like a 7+1 Kahr MK9 or MP9 or 10+1 Kel Tec P11).
