A little farther information - - -
As shown on Harley's attachment, the PPK/S is really the PP frame and guts with a shorter barrel and PPK slide. If you need to detail strip the frame (Not recommended unless you're mechanically/gunsmithically inclined) you'll probably want to request the instructions for the PP model. Slide removal is identical, but the PPK has a different frame from the PPK/S.
The item mentions a recognition point being the finger extension on the magazine. Walther used to sell their pistols with two mags, one with the extension and the other without. Dunno about the current models. My PPK was made in 1966. I have no serial number references for Walthers. To best of my recollection, the PPK/S was introduced in 1969, or possibly 1970. There was little or no advance fanfare. They just started showing up within a year or two of the Gun Control Act of 1968 "Factoring Criteria" origination. Best, Johnny Guest

If it says made in the USA on it was made in 1979 or later. Between 79 and 95, @ 65.000 had been made.
