44-40 load data

I just aquired a 44-40 carbine (new) and need some loades for hogs and other verman. My books do not have many loads for this caliber, any help will be apriciated.

read Steve's pages

The Lyman 47th book breaks loads into 2 categories depending on the firearm. I'd get that book as a reference.

get the free pamphlets from powder manufacturers

use a Lee Factory Crimp Die (almost mandatory) 44-40's are hard to load...case is paper thin and buckles real easy.

Yes I ordered the crimp die as I try to use it on all of my tube fed and sini auto rifles. I will go and get the book as I need it anyhow. You can never have too many books.
