GRNC-PVF Candidate Update 6-10-02:

Pro-Gun Senate Candidate Deserves Support

[Background] As you may be aware, the NC General Assembly and the courts have been involved in wrangling over the creation of new political districts Beyond the problems associated with delaying primary elections, however, the redistricting struggle has created some opportunities to improve the General Assembly by electing pro-Second Amendment candidates. Accordingly, as the elections approach (with a primary likely in late August), the GRNC Political Victory Fund will issue a series of updates on pro-gun candidates who need and deserve your support.

MAC BUTNER (R) for State Senate

District: NC Senate District 34, comprising Yadkin, Davie and Rowan.

In previous political races, Mac earned GRNC’s highest 4-star candidate evaluation with a perfect 100% survey score. Of the Second Amendment, he says: "This is the fundamental foundation of all of our freedoms; without it, we would be in tyrannical slavery. I will always support this right, with all of my being."

In addition to Butner’s considerable political experience in conservative causes, the redistricting process has created a favorable district for him which comprises all of Yadkin and Davie counties and most of Rowan County. GRNC’s previous contacts with Butner indicate he will be a major asset in the NC Senate.
