Woohoo. Getting Publicity!

My little 'gun show loophole' movie hit the 'kinda close to big time' today with mentions on both the popular
InstaPundit.com and The Corner on National Review Online .

Yeehah. I just love it when the truth spreads!

The downside is; your server is overloaded with hits now...

Or, there's a big problem between here and there. Can't ping you at all, host not found errors. Can't get to any pages...

Time for that big upgrade ;-)?

Just checked again and everything is humming along fine. You may be experiencing a DNS problem that I haven't been able to figure out yet. Anybody that can't get there through the domain name should be able to reach the site directly at

It seems to be some sort of dns problem. I'm not sure what is exactly happening - looks like the dns records are disappearing???

I'll be checking into it ASAP. very strange indeed.

Some blissninny ISP probably wiped you from their DNS listings. Should sort itself out within 12-24 hours, though, as the routing tables rebuild

It's not just one ISP, it's several right now. Can't even resolve it on web based nslookup. Cain is being raised as I type this. What a perfect time for this to happen.

Bastiat!

Congrats! It's always a thrill to see an unsolicited third party promoting your work! And it's a real tweak on your bandwidth.

Maybe you've exceeded your alotment already for the month?

Nope, there's no allotment to go over. I've checked the dns entries and it just plained stopped resolving the domain name.

Luckily, I emailed instapundit and national review and they both changed their links to the direct IP address in a few minutes. So the disaster only lasted an hour or so.

I'm thinking it might be a gun-grabber plot against me. I've got the tinfoil hat on right now.

You may want to switch to the IP in your sig line, too.

Thanks for that. So many things to change when somone completely screws up.

I've just heard back that the domain registrar, who handles the dns, said there was some kind of 'software error' when someone else updated their domain records. Gee, that's comforting to know a user screw up can mess up domain records

Received the link last week from a local gun show promoter (few left in MD). Although I have been to your site before due to TFL postings it was good to see it getting more publicity.

Thank you, thank you very much (in elvis voice)

It looks like the DNS records are starting to be corrected. I'll probably give it another day before I roll out the next movie, just to be safe.

During the Bush vs. Gore race, I came across some interesting pictures. Gore ran for Prez in 1988 I think it was, back when he was MUCH more "conservative". His state-level campaign manager for Kansas was a guy name of Phelps. Pictures were still online showing Gore arm-in-arm with Phelps and his family.

I publicized this as far and wide as I could, and within hours every site with the pics started crashing. Mostly DOS attacks, some DNS bonkers stuff, etc.

Why?

Well, the "Reverend" Phelps went on to gain notoriety with his ministry and website - so help me, his URL is http://www.godhatesfags.com :barf:

This idiot and his "congregation" picket the funerals of AIDS victims, hurling abuse at all present, including the deceased.

Some sort of left-wing professional Internet "hit squad" tried to squelch those pictures! And there was another budding Gore scandal late in the game where the same thing happened.

My site has been repeatedly hacked, so has KABA and a lot of others. The NRA's firewall is said to be a fearsome beast indeed - if they could find some genuine "Black ICE" William Gibson style, they'd probably load it .

Tin hat my ass, they really ARE out to get us!
