870 Sling Set-Up

Anyone make a sling swivel for the front end of a 870? A bracket that fits on the mag tube under the end cap would be nice. I'll settle for something that clamps on the barrel.

Uncle Mike's makes a replacement mag tube cap for the 870 that has a sling swivel made onto the end of it. I got one from Brownell's catalog.

You have a coupel options here. First, you can get the bracket that comes standard on 870Ps. It is a barrel/magazine band that has a swivel on the bottom. Uncle Mikes makes a similiar setup. Or you can get a bracket that has the swivel on the side. Check www.cheaperthandirt.com for the product. Or, if you don't have the extended mag tuce, Uncle Mikes makes a setup that replace the magazine cap. Hope this helps.

Cabella's, Brownells & others sell the caps with the sling swivel pre-attached. I had my gunsmith make one up for me quite some time ago.

Those barrel clamps, I think, are to be avoided. They can change your point of impact, loosen up, slide around, etc.
