Reciprocity: Louisiana & Wyoming
Earlier today I saw a wire story on The Times-Picayune's website that Louisiana and Wyoming have established CCW reciprocity. However, from perusing the Louisiana State Police website, this may be old info. So, if you haven't heard yet, there it is. If you have heard, click your browser's back button.
More info at http://www.lsp.org/handguns.html While looking for the reciprocity info, I came across something interesting. Louisiana appears to have the CCW application form online. It's only partially electronic, it's just a form that's online. You still have to print it out and mail it in, but that's a big start. http://www.lsp.org/special.html What's even more cool is that they link to the CCW database at http://www.packing.org/!

The information also appears on Wyoming's Division of Criminal Investigation website at http://attorneygeneral.state.wy.us/dci/CWP.html
Wyoming used to grant automatic recognition to LA permits until a legislative change a couple of years ago that authorized reciprocal recognition rather than granting blanket recognition to permits from states that did not provide reciprocal recognition. Now it's reciprocal for Wyoming permit holders who go to Louisiana, which is nice. It looks like the Wyoming AG has been moving forward with reciprocity agreements. Papercut, do you have the TP link, because I didn't see it. |

Wyo, no, sorry, I can't find the Times Picayune story any more. I'd found it at work, but when I got home and tried to find it again to post here, it had moved.
