IMR Powder Bankrupt

Spotted this thread in a shotgun forum. It appears the manufacturer of IMR powders has filed for bankruptcy in Canada.

Don't know how this will effect the supply of IMR powders in the US.

Looks to me like it will be business as usual, just new owners.

Whew!

Had me scared there for a moment, visions of having to go looking for a different powder than IMR4895 for my Garand...

SNC is a huge company. Among other things, they are also the owners of Simunition, and the incredibly populart FX cartridge that is used heavily in reality based training.

I had the opportunity to meet one of the past CEO's of this corporation.
He was a WWII RCAF Fighter Pilot, CEO of this corp. and Chair of the Calgary Oilmans Club as well as just about everything else. Truly a dynamic individual.
The company has contracts which extend well beyond the scope of the reloader. If the flow of powder stops from them, there will be another companies powder come along in no time, that we will not be able to get along without...
