briley gun
I have a friend who's grandfather knows the guy who started the briley choke company and he said that briley is coming out with an o/u. The way he explained it he made it sound expensive. Anyone hear about this gun?

This gun has been rumored for a number of months now and if we are going to see it any time soon will probably be presented at the SHOT show. It is supposed to be very inovative and this would match their offerings in the pistol catagory, but I have not heard any specifics.

Briley has great engineers and artisans. If this is true, I opine that their O/U would be a heavy competition tool rather than a field gun. That's where the money is.
Kolar, who make arguably the world's best competition O/U, has worked closely with Briley in the past. Kolar also made the T-90 trap single for Remington that lots of top trapshooters use, even after it was discontinued. Kolar's baseline model runs about $7500. Briley makes their choke tubes, I believe. Whether or not Kolar makes it, a Briley O/U will certainly be at least 8 lbs, last darn near forever under heavy use, have sweet triggers, adjustable thingies to set POI/POA, and lots of choke tubes designed for optimum performance in those bores. I'd wager it'll run over $6K... |

Briley O/U
Supposedly the prototype guns have been out for a while and are being tested by shooters. Haven't seen any photos yet.
I doubt that Kolar will make the gun as they are Briley's chief competition in the sub gauge tube market. This will probably be a Briley made gun. Probably will be in the 8K range. Expect it to have M32 style barrels and removable trigger groups.

Tom Fiori with Briley let me handle one of the prototype guns a while back.
Definitely high end. Looks and feels more like a Kolar than a Krieghoff, but definitely manufactured solely by Briley. Bud |
