BP And/Or CAS? Or not?
I've always thought that this forum addressed BP guns and shooting plus Cowboy Action Type shooting. I see very few posts about CAS cartridge guns. Do we have a place to really talk about CAS including the cartridge guns? I'd think that with maybe 95% of Cowboy Shooters using cartridge guns they'd be included here?

You can talk about CAS guns here, just not that many that want to. There's a few SASS members here. I used to be one.

Occasionally, a topic will pop up that is CAS/SASS "only" but that is the exception, not the norm. I'm a SASS shooter....and I'm currently transitioning from shooting smokeless to shooting BP. When my leather gets finished, I'll start shooting Frontiersman with my new '58 Remmies, so, I guess I'm good on "both counts."

I'm a SASS member & usually shoot 4 matches a month. Primarily a Frontiersman; but also like to shoot Frontier Cartridge Duelist. Like T6 said, a CAS/SASS subject sometimes pops up; but the subject matter is predominantly BP firearms here.

My badge number is 22273L. I shoot in the Frontier Cartridge Duelist category. I've posted any number of videos here featuring CAS black powder guns- both c&b and cartridge.

I am a dyed in the wool CAS Frontiersman. 1860 Armys(Pietta), Baikal SXS 12, Uberti 1866 in 44-40.
I'll always talk CAS black powder with anyone. Fingers McGee and I are friendly competitors. He gets me most of the time but I'll rise to the occasion sometimes. Badge #? 62899 |

I've been shooting cowboy for a little over two years now. I shoot smokeless but I really enjoy being with the guys and gals who shoot Frontier Cartridge and those hearty souls who shoot cap and ball revolvers in the Frontiersman category. You can tell them at glance; they are usually manning the unloading table for most of the match, reloading their cylinders.
