Sight for XD
I just bought a new XD45 for IDPA etc. I like fiber optic type for my older eyes. Has anyone tried the Advantage sights? http://www.advantagetactical.com/index.html

My up close vision sucks as well. I use a Dawson fiber front on my XD and it is a small blury dot. These may be one hugh blur, not sure. I've never seen anyone in competition using them, but than again most shooters are much younger with fresh sharp eyes.

I use the Dawson Precision F/O also. I can pick-up the front sight a lot quicker with the F/O than I can others.

From the IDPA rule book:
Sights: Only conventional notch and post type sights are permitted for IDPA competition. Sights may include tritium inserts, fiber optic inserts, white dots, etc. I just bought a front fiber optic sight for my Glock 22 and asked one of the old heads about exotic sights and he warned me off. |
