11-87 Police

On 11-87 Police Model which is a 11-87 with 18 inch barrel. This gun will fire and load a shell from magizine tube. It will not go completely closed, you have to push bolt handle closed to lock gun in battery.
Could this cured by changing the interceptor latch and or disconnector or am I thinking wrong?

shotgun

Dear Sir:
I'd check the chamber and see if there is a biuld-up of plascic or crud in there and also the bot-face. I'd give the gun a good cleaning and see if that could help.

Indeed clean the chamber and check your ammo. I've seen some shotgun ammo recently that had a bit of deformity to the shell. An outward dimple here or there. I've had some shells that I couldn't get to chamber in a pump. And these were Winchester and Rem shells.

When you manually load the first one does it chamber then?

If so, then there is an issue with the cycle of operation from the fire, extract, eject, cock, load.... I could be gas related.

Clean the gas ports and check for obstruction. If it is not getting the proper amount of gas to completely cycle it, it may not load up the operating spring with full spring pressure. If you have a lot of carbon build up in the ports you can take a small drill bit and by hand only w/pin vise use it to clean out the ports.

Also check the oprerating spring. Sometimes they get debris or rust on that spring. Keep it cleaned and lightly oiled.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.
