Glock Magazine question?

I know that certain blocks can have barrel changes and function properly, I.e. having a 10mm and using a .40s&w barrel conversion....
My question is what mags can be interchanged?

Glock 17, 19 and 26 mags will fit in a Glock 27/33 if you add a 9mm conversion barrel. Glock 17 and 19 mags will fit in a Glock 23/32. Glock 17 mags will fit in a Glock 22/31.

I am unsure about others.

Okay, so what your saying is that I can get a different barrel for my .40 and shoot 10mm?

It doesn't work that way (40 to 10mm). The rounds are too long for the grip and the slide likely couldn't handle the hotter 10mm loads.

Now, you can use the 10mm mags in a G20 with a 40 barrel or 357SIG barrel---it will feed fine.

Not what I was saying. You can't go "up" in caliber. From .40 S&W or .357 Sig you can go 9mm (or switch .40 to .357), but you can't go from .40 to 10mm due to the length of the cartridge.

Glock 40 mags and 357 sig mags are the same.

The Glock 9mm mags can be used in 40s and 357's. with the appropriate conversion barrel.

10mm and .45's mags are interchangeable with the appropriate barrel conversions in the large framed glocks.

Let me see if I'm right. I have TONS of .40 mags and they can be used in .357, and in 9mm also long as I have a barrel conversion, but not in a 10mm?

Do I have to do anything to the mags to make them feed properly?

For the 40 and 357SIG mags there's nothing you have to do besides get a barrel. The 9mm mags may work in them but it may not since it is slightly different.

Yes- mostly.

.40S&W and .357Sig Glocks are essentially identical other than the caliber. These pistols can accept a 9mm conversion barrel, and the mags and barrels are also interchangeable with each other.

9mm Glocks have a similar-size frame to the .40S&W/.357Sig pistols but cannot be readily converted to fire those cartridges.

None of these pistols will accept 10mm because the round is too long to fit in the mag well and is too powerful.

Double-stack 10mm and .45ACP Glocks- the G20, G21, G29, and G30- have a larger and heavier-duty frame than the above-mentioned pistols. They can be converted to fire 9mm, .40S&W*, and .357Sig, along with a variety of other rounds.

Got it now?

*Footnote: Although some shooters have done it with some success, it is a matter of considerable debate whether it is safe and/or smart to fire .40S&W in a 10mm G20/G29 without a conversion barrel. This has been discussed in other threads, and I don't want to branch out into that topic here, but I feel it warrants a brief mention.

Lets Do A Run Down For Future Clarity Shall We

.40 cal glocks can be converted to fire 9mm and .357 sig and .22 LR. It is said that 9mm mags should be used for the 9mm but the .357 and .40 are interchangable. If I were going to CCW it that way I would most likely buy the appropriate mags. I currently own a G23 and a G27. I purchased a G32 .357 barrel and can now run that caliber in both guns with no other modifictions. The 32 barrel acts as an extended length barrel in the G27 and its now my woods gun in that configuration. G23 is a dedicated HD pistol The .22lr requires a conversion kit. 9mm requires a conversion barrel and 9mm mags. Some say 9mm will function in a .40 mag I say BS.

.357 sig glocks function exactly as above. They can be converted to run .40, 9mm, and .22lr. The .22lr kit still applies as well. 9mm still reuires 9mm mags and a 9mm conversion barrel. Note a conversion barrel. YOU CANNOT RUN A G19 BARREL IN A G32 for example. The conversion barrel takes up the extra space in the slide left by the smaller cartridge.

.10 mm glocks can be converted to run just about every caliber it would seem. The larger frame size and slide demensions allow it to run .45, 9mm, .357 sig, and .40 caliber all with the proper conversion barrel.

In summary if you are going to CCW it converted at the very least have the proper mags. (My .40 cal mags stay stock while .357 sig mags have blaze orange markings on them. This prevents wrong caliber in wrong barrel issues)
I would suggest that the OP post here exactly what he or she is trying to accomplish and we can move forward from there.

Regards, Vermonter

That's why I said "may" above. I've seen someone load a 40 mag with 9mm and shoot it. I was surprised that the rounds stayed in the mag so I tried it (loading, not shooting). It stayed in one mag but not in my others Can't tell you why but the mag in question functions fine in my 40 caliber Glocks. But, I did mark it just in case
