Data 2200 rifle powder
A buddy of mine is selling off his rifles and reloading equipment. Getting into sporting clays.
He has 2 new 8 lb. kegs of Data AA2200 powder - $75. Any opinions on it for my AR15 target reloads. Thanks!

rinoray,
AA2200 is EXCELLENT stuff for the .223.... meters great, shoots clean, and accurate. Low stealth factor....it does have a highly bright muzzle flash. It gives me all the accuracy I need with the smaller wt. bullets( <62gr.). Most of the guys on the AR15 board don't recommend it for the heavy bullets (69 gr. +) I stocked up on it when it was still readily available from Natchez & Wideners for $39 a jug. just my .02 Swampy |

$75 is an excellent price for 2 8# jugs. This powder is also very good in the 444 Marlin, 35 Rem, 221 Fireball, 223, 222, 30 Herrett, 30/30, 7.62x39, 357 Herrett.
It's speed falls in between AA 1680 and 2015. I've done the most work with it in the 444 Marlin and achieve about 2190 FPS with a 280 gr. cast bullet and safe pressures. As stated, muzzle flash is a bit bright but not bad. Regards |

I have used it with 69 grain molyed Sierras with great success out to 200 yards. Super accurate.
