Trueshot Industries See through Mosin Nagant Scope Mount.
So I just got the Trueshot see through Mosin mounted on my 91/30 project figured I'd give you all my impressions. Im impressed with the simplicity of installation if you can drill and tap and have the mechanical apptitude of a squirrel you could do this yourself in your garage with some basic tools. If not your local gunsmith is just going to make some easy money off of you
I have yet to fire a shot with my setup as I am awaiting funds to purchase a bent bolt, decent optic, and an Archangel stock. Having fired the designers rifle with this mount I have no doubt it will hold up to heavy use and abuse. While I think this mount could use some improvements the essential design is good. Highlights: Easy installation. Light weight durable construction using 6061 aluminum Allows for irons and optics Uses the same size threads and hole patterns as the RSI and ATI mounts. Areas that could use improvement: More durable coating such as anodizing or ceracote. True Milspec Picatinny rail without the shallow groove diwn the center. All in all this so far seems like a good option for folks that want to retain irons and dont mind drilling and tapping the receiver. Pictures, videos, and updates to follow. Stay tuned. |

Thanks for the review, Molon, and welcome to TFL.
Please don't post the same thing to multiple forums. It dilutes discussion and wastes bandwidth. This is more at home here rather than the Smithy. Thanks.
