shotshells for 1911's (.45's)
I've got RCBS's dies for making shotshells for 1911's out of cut down .308 brass, 410 shotshell wads, a dab of shot, capped by a 00 Buck. They work fine for me in my 1911 and cycle good. They throw a nice rabbit pattern at about 25 ft. I like em'
I've never heard of anyone else ever making these shotshells, and wondered if I was really alone on this. Any TFL'ers ever made any of these? If so what variations and performance do you get? |

00 buck? I was unaware of the dies. Where'd you get 'em?

RCBS makes the dies. They come out looking like the CCI shot cartridges that they sell, except for being brass instead of aluminum. I was never able to put the clear plastic disc on top of a full shot load so that it looked good and retained the shot properly in the wad/case. So I reduced the load of #9 shot to accommadate a single 00 Buck, which effectivly caps the round and makes the ammo more durable, not to mention more versatile.
