Well, I just picked up our (my wife and I) new AL391. It is the 12 gauge field version with a 26" barrel. I ordered it that way so my wife will be more comfortable with it. Other than the grease that is slathered all over the barrel, it looks great. I've got quite a cleaning job tonight. The wood isn't quite as nice as the Remingtons I've seen, but it isn't really glossy either. I figure it will be easier to maintain without that high gloss varnish. Can't wait to shoot it! I want to go this weekend, but as-is the reach to the fore-end is too long for my wife. So I might have to wait until we get it fitted to her. Maybe I can sneak away and try it out before it gets cut shorter .
The next one will be all mine . |
