June 21-23 (Fri-Sun):
Louis Awerbuck (www.yfainc.com) will be teaching his Tactical Carbine course. This course is designed for quick, accurate, close-range shooting as opposed to precision sniper shooting. Topics include loading and unloading, shooting from several ready positions and various tactical body positions, use of the shooting sling, shooting on the move, moving targets, dim-light shooting and barricades. Either iron sights or telescopes are applicable.

This course will be particularly applicable to law enforcement officers using a carbine in place of a shotgun. Course fee is $600 with advance registration. See his website for details.

A handgun is required for this course, with prior pistol training on arrival mandatory.

Ammunition requirement is 600 Rifle rounds and 100 Pistol rounds.

Louis Awerbuck served in 1st Special Services Battalion in the South African Defence Force, and is a member of the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI), and the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA). He was employed at the original Gunsite Ranch as Chief Rangemaster until 1987, attaining the title of Shooting Master, and is a Senior Rangemaster for the current Gunsite Academy, Inc. He has trained extensively in the police and civilian firearms field, and has instructed military personnel from various United States bases, including Special Forces units.
