222 Remington Mag. W/ Norma Powder

Anyone tried any of the Norma powder line in their 222 Mag.? I have sent Lapau/Norma an email, but no response yet. They list load data for the reg, 222 but not the Mag version. Powder Valley has some Norma on hand, just ordered 12 lbs of N204 for my 6.5x55's as it does very well..The only faster burning powder they have is the N203B, thinking I could extrapolate and try this in my 222 mag.

Nosler manual #7 lists only N201 powder for all bullet weights in 222 Mag.

I have extrapolated loads for handguns. I don't extrapolate loads for rifle. If you give more specifics, I can run the case in QuickLoad and send you the results. But recognize, this is only an estimate, not a load that has been fired. But it is much better than extrapolating.

Can't help you with that powder selection, but 500 rounds of testing with a variety of bullets has shown me that BL-C(2) is by far the best choice for my Sako Mannlicher. Best Regards, Rod

It's pretty much hit and miss with the Norma powders not sure I'd want to develop load with that powder.

Remington used 26gr/IMR-4895 with 52 gr Berger as their accuracy load for the 40x 222mag and I've has pretty good luck with that load in my 722. My new one seems to like N-133, surplus 8208.

I guess big problem is finding powder and I think Graf has Norma 201. Well good luck

Norma 230B is Alliant R-15.

Thanks for all the replies..As Old Roper said it nicely, "Finding powder period".
Thought the powder crisis would have calmed by now...(Coughs). I haven't shot my ole 722 remmy lately, but had an itch plus its mild on powder usage compared to my other rifles..I have about .5lb of 3031 left. So the old faithfull it is... Just received 4 boxes of Nosler 40gr BT's today from midway, wanting to work up some crow killers..Guess I will just wait and see if I can run across several lbs of H335 or RE7.
