case demension ~ .204

Ok the Ruger .204 as a cartridge has caught my eye, my latest Lyman [48] manual doesn't have any info on it, assuming it came out post printing.. can some one maybe post a picture of the .204 case with a comparison case, or at least explain what it compares to... any opions on the caliber as well... i've read alittle on bullet an its seems to be the talk of town...?

The .204 Ruger is basically a .222 Rem Mag case strectched by just a hair and necked down to 20 caliber. Here is a great starting point and the web is slam full of info.

.204 Ruger

Here's an outstanding website on the .204, and you can link here to helpful articles, load data, sources, etc. It's a great cartridge.

Thanks Unick i was able to look thru... an find 222mag demension was close match to the 204,. as was the 223 which i guess was built off mag as well , then reading McK.. artical to conclude the same as,, not surprised to see the part on barrel wear, at 4000+fps, impressive that that poi is good out to 270yrds pretty neet.. although having a.223 an 22/250 wondering wether its worth getting into ? more dies an componets .. gw.jr's article revelled ammo @ $35.per40 rnds, nice artical on avalibility of firearms as well, .. still an interesting caliber, thanks guys for the info, very helpful... keep the comments coming .. could use the pro/con about after you own it.. is it worth it.......... Thanks

It is an interesting caliber and an awful lot of fun to shoot. With absolutely no recoil, you can watch the hole form in the target through the scope as you pull the trigger. I load for it. I recovered the cost of dies and brass within my first few reloads, and, though I am anything but the magnificient shooter that you will see here on this web site, I can get 1" my groups at 200 yrds.

I have 223, 22-250 etc. Fell in love with the 204, on my 2nd barrel after approx. 4,000 rds. Really is a great round.
