I feel really stupid asking this, but here goes.
I was cleaning a .45 auto barrel last nite. Copper fmj ball loads only, so there should not have been any leading. Bore brush the barrel with half a dozen strokes with Hoppes #9, then clean with patch. Everytime I used the #9 I ended up with a dirty patch and it was BLACK. Barrel looks clean after multiple patches, but I'm getting something out of barrel when I use #9. Am I getting dotty in my old age or what? |

OkieGentleman, no I wouldn't say dotty. The fact is you may never get a wet patch to come out spotless. I would scrub it with a wet patch, let set a few minutes, scrub again and then dry with 3 dry patches. You won't get it much cleaner than that. George
