Model 12 Info wanted.

I recently inherited a Winchester model 12 from my still alive father. He told me the gun was purchased by my grandfather when he was 14yo.That would have been around 1926. The gun has serno. 505976 and is 16 gauge, nickel steel. The gun functions flawlessly and has spent a lot of time in the woods.
What I was wondering is the manufacture date and number of guns made that are identical to mine. Any help would be appreciated.

Model 12

Your gun was made about 1927. Given the high production figures of the Model 12, I can only say that there were likely many thousands of that configuration... JFC
