Just got a Contender with 223 Rem barrel. Shot it yesterday at the range. Excellent accuracy. However, had failures to fire about 40% of the time. Comparing the primers of those that fired against those that did not indicated that I was getting light firing pin hits. I was shooting Sellier & Bellot Czech ammo. What could be causing this??? Sincerely, Twoinchgroup52.

2", the S&B ammo could be the problem. But, if this is a used pistol the previous owner may have changed the hammer spring to a lighter one. George

2", the ammo could be the problem. I'd try a different brand and see but if this is a used gun the previous owner may have changed the hammer spring to get a lighter pull. George

George, this is a new gun. Can you think of any other reason for this problem? What is the reputation of S&B ammo?? Thanks, Twoinchgroup52.
