45 ACP 175 LSWC need data

Where can I find data for the 45 ACP 175 LSWC ? I have a bunch of books none list the 175 lots on the 185. I'm thinking go about .3 less than the Unique load for the 185. I just like to go by a know source is why I'm asking. The date for the lead 185 195 and 200 seam to be real close with lead bullets. I need just some lite loads nothing with power. Something for IDPA,

Thanks,Keith

You can actually go a tad bit "more" of unique for a lighter bullet. It's when the bullet weight increases is when you decrease the amount of powder. Just stay within reasonable limits when comparing to other weights in your book and you'll be fine. I'm also in need of a chrony so I can verify my loads but with information available so far on the internet I've came up with some pretty accurate loads.

Have you tryed handloads.com Handloads ? I see that they have some unique info for a 180gr swc which should put you real close.

Powder chaeges go up the lighter the bullets get. I would start where the 185 loads do, and not be afraid of going over the max if that's what it took.

You are still going to need to make the 165 power floor (unless you don't care about a match). If you go too light on your load, you may need to change some springs...

Let us know what your purpose for these loads is? I bought a bunch of 175's 15 or 20 years ago. No problem to make up loads for them, but nothing made them shoot as well as the standard 200 grain SWC H&G #68 form bullets. Even the best of the 185's don't keep up with those in my guns. I generally found 185's shot well-enough for 50 ft indoor bullseye matches. 200's were needed for 50 yards. The standard military energy level load of 5.0 grains of Bullseye powder would be a reasonable starting place for the light bullets.

safe

Use the 185g data, and work up normally.

I was not thinking

I know as the weight goes up the powder charge comes down. Thanks for the help I will start with the lead 185 SWC loads. I'm looking for a lite load for plinking and IDPA. Somebody gave me 500 of them and I have the urge to shoot them up. They are the first 175 LSWC I ever seen. They are D&J,

Thanks,Keith
